The short answer
Treat a major electric-truck launch as a reason to review your transport operation, then select a specific configuration. MYGE AUTO recommends checking the route, payload, charging site and destination requirements together before requesting a final quotation.
What BYD announced on 14 September 2026
At IAA Transportation in Hannover, BYD presented an expanded European commercial-vehicle portfolio, including the ETT 44 heavy-duty electric tractor. Its announcement also discussed charging, energy storage and energy management alongside the vehicles. These are manufacturer announcements for that portfolio, not specifications for every BYD truck. MYGE AUTO view: plan the charging stop before choosing the battery
For a buyer in Africa or the Middle East, our first question is where the vehicle returns at the end of its shift. We suggest recording the available electrical supply, charger specification, parking time and person responsible for site installation. A high charging-power headline alone does not establish that a depot can support it.
Prepare two route descriptions: an ordinary working day and the most demanding expected day. Include loaded distance, delivery stops, hills, operating hours and any refrigerated-body requirement. Ask for range evidence for the proposed configuration and conditions, rather than using the longest advertised figure as a delivery guarantee.
How this relates to MYGE AUTO’s BYD listings
Our current catalogue includes specific BYD T4 and T5 configurations. The new ETT 44 announcement does not change their batteries, drive systems or listed specifications, and it is not a statement that MYGE AUTO supplies the newly announced tractor. Match each quotation to the exact vehicle and body configuration.
Before an order, request written confirmation of destination suitability, steering position, charging compatibility, warranty scope and service arrangements. An overseas launch does not establish import eligibility for a different country.
Buyer question: should every diesel route switch to electric?
No universal recommendation follows from this announcement. Our approach is to compare the planned vehicle against the route, energy access and operating budget. Where key information is missing, the useful next step is to resolve it before choosing a powertrain.
What to include in your enquiry
Send MYGE AUTO your destination country, quantity, required payload, body type, daily and maximum route distance, and available charging details. We can use those inputs to discuss the listed configurations and identify what still needs confirmation. Final specifications, commercial terms and availability are confirmed separately.
